Gambeex,Heiner Mühlenbrock and Zunino’s & Lea Mornar “Enigma” is a cinematic work that explores the behind-the-scenes excesses of television. This docu-drama reveals the casting process from every angle, tackling themes such as racism, sexism, lying out of modesty and the most genuine outbursts of anger. Each element is carefully orchestrated to surprise the viewer.

By choosing spontaneity as its common thread, the film presents a raw, unfiltered reality. The direction of the actors is so free that some of them do not fully realise what is happening. Everything is captured and then edited, offering a profound exploration of human nature, ego, psychological play, confusion, intelligence and the absurd. The depth of the acting is accentuated by dialogue created on the spot that is challenging, challenging and competitive, without the viewer sensing the tension. The fluidity of the acting and art direction blurs the line between reality and fiction.

To understand this film, it is essential to grasp the importance of improvisation. This work, deliberately amateurish in its appearance, would not have seen the light of day without the modest means employed. The dialogue, entirely spontaneous over three days of shooting, gives life to authentic characters on the edge of their roles, revealing the actors’ deceptive feelings and the truth of humanity.

The director plunges us into a genuine psychological surprise. By playing with the authenticity of reactions and taking the risk of conflicts during filming, he draws us into a unique dimensional accuracy, marked by unexpected slip-ups that define the tone of the film, unprecedented in cinema. The film can be described as a “fictional documentary alienated by truth”, offering an intriguing new perspective on human nature and television.
